Share Your World: August 7, 2017
This will be a weekly post of the most random of random questions to answer- to share my world! Thanks to Cee’s blog for being the brainchild behind this!
What was the last URL that you bookmarked or saved? The login page to what will be my new, updated blog! I am transferring to a self-hosted site. It’s time to expand my blog and bring it to a higher level and the good people at WordPress are doing the full transfer for me because I don’t speak code and will cry if I mess something up and lose content. I don’t know how long it will take, but excuse my mess on the blog, and if you run into a dead end, it’s only temporary! Thank you all for your patience!
Do you believe in the afterlife? Reincarnation? I am a born-again Christian; I put my faith in Jesus at the age of fifteen on April 13, 2001, which happened to be Good Friday that year. In the sixteen years since, Jesus has been my rock and my salvation, my deliverer, my King, and my friend. So I already know where I’m going when He calls me home to his Heavenly Kingdom. It’s a day I anticipate with glee!
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4 (NIV)
If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels? When I was a child, I had five-subject notebooks filled with short stories. There were mainly two series than I would add new adventures to, the “Sisters Series” and the “North Pole Series.” As much as I would love to write a novel, I think I’m better suited for short stories.
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. Last Friday morning, I did an e-Visit with my POTS doctor. It was just a series of questions that he would review and make recommendations on based on my answers.
Sunday afternoon, he wrote back with a list of observations. He cheered me up by writing, “I am very impressed and can see from the e-Visit you are doing all the care correctly. This is good work and in the long run you will do better by this work you are doing now.” He further encouraged me, “You are doing everything right in daily POTS care. Just an important point, you have really of recent just started POTS care and it does take a year to get the condition under control and doing what you are doing will help, but it does take time. Be patient with your body and yourself during this time.”
And I really am doing the best I can, so at least I know I’m on the right track!

You had terrific news from your doctor. 😀
Yes, it’s such a wonderful thing to receive validation from a doctor once in awhile!
your new site looks great! i was glad when i switched to self-hosting with wordpress.org.
i agree 100% with what your doctor said – it took me at least a year to get my POTS under control. i still have flares, and i’m still nowhere near where i’d like to be, but i learned what did/did not work for me, and am in a better place now than I was that first year!
Thanks Lindsay! It’s still having some growing pains. I feel stupid that one of the things that bothers me the most about the transfer is losing all my stats. I was so proud of them! ?
Glad to hear that what my doctor said can be validated by an actual patient! I think that’s the case with a lot of chronic illnesses. My PCP told me the same thing when I was diagnosed with celiac disease, that it would take a year to figure out how to manage a GF diet. She was right! But back to POTS, I just now completed my 5th workout of my cardiac rehab! (I’ve missed 3 days due to flares, ugh.) But I’m moving forward! ?
Thanks for sharing this week. 😀
