“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

~1 Thessalonians 5:18

I had a gratitude journal back during my second year of college. Looking back on it now, I realize how important it was in helping me maintain a valuable perspective on life during what was a very trying year. Plus, it’s sometimes hilarious re-reading it and trying to remember the events I was referring to.

It doesn’t matter how big or small something is; God deserves thanks for every gift He gives His children. Sometimes it may feel like you’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel, but there’s always something there to be thankful for. I find this to be especially more important now that my life is consumed with illnesses that in all likelihood will never go away. Are you alive today? There’s always that.

Monday, July 30th:

  • I read A LOT!

Tuesday, July 31st:

  • Although I wasted most of the day by spending 16 hours sleeping, my body apparently needed the rest.
  • I almost finished a book.
  • July was the best month on my blog this year!

Wednesday, August 1st:

  • Survived another month!
  • I started a new journal.

Thursday, August 2nd:

  • Well…that one thing could have been worse. That’s why I have Holly. 🙂
  • I stayed up for a full 25 hours and got stuff done!
  • I wrote a lot in my journal. It has things I can color in it, which helps relax me.

Friday, August 3rd:

  • As a result of being up all day Thursday, I slept for 18 hours. And it was actually the best sleep I’ve had in years.
  • I had an awesomely long conversation via iMessage with my brother on his weekly flight.
  • I got a new book.
  • Super low pain day!!! Only a 3/10!!! 😃

Saturday, August 4th:

  • I made it through the entire day on only two hours of sleep.
  • I am going to be a beta-reader for a novel!
  • Red Roller arrived! (Stay tuned…)

Sunday, August 5th:

  • I finally finished a book I’d been reading for over a month!
  • I published a blog post.

What are you grateful for this week?

I love this list! And also that you included “Survived another month!” – I need to break things down into smaller things, be more appreciative of the little things I’ve done and experienced, rather than always feeling that they’re not important enough. I hope this week is filled with positive things for you lovely (and maybe even a new book as you’ve recently finished your other one?) 🙂

great post! I’m grateful for the people I have that support me. I’m also grateful for how much time I’ve been able to work on my blog! Oh, and chocolate, of course.
