Share Your World: June 26, 2017

This will be a weekly post of the most random of random questions to answer- to share my world! Thanks to Cee’s blog for being the brainchild behind this!

What goal are you working on now? Your goal can be something fun or extremely serious. Have fun with this question. Trying to live as normal a life as possible given my chronic illnesses. It’s become more of a challenge as time goes on. I hate the term “new normal” because there’s nothing normal about the way my illnesses are making me live, so I’m trying to not look at it that way.

Batman: The Ride. YES.

What is one thing you’re glad you tried but would never do again? I used to love roller coasters. The bigger, the faster, the better! My first upside-down coaster was the Batman ride at Six Flags in St. Louis, when I was 10. I rode it four times in one day. But sometime in college I stopped being able to tolerate the crazy coasters. I would get a huge headache and feel really nauseous afterwards. Now, based on the medical conditions I have, particularly the POTS, I know I could never ride any of the huge, fast, scary, awesome coasters again. ?

Did you choose your profession or did it choose you? I chose to be a pharmacist. I wanted to work in the medical field, but not be a doctor or nurse. Once I found out that pharmacists do a heck of a lot more than count by fives, but have to be the literal drug experts so doctors don’t kill their patients, I was sold. It’s the perfect mix of chemistry and biology.

Have you ever gotten lost? I have a horrible sense of direction, so yes, I’ve gotten lost many times. Thank goodness for modern GPS systems, although they seem to be more helpful in getting me unlost than in preventing me from getting lost in the first place.

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Well, I’ve got to admit, last week was a terrible week. I had felt great the previous two weeks, but last week was a huge flare week that I’m still not quite out of. But I did get a fair amount of reading done last week, so that was nice.

This week is a week I’ve been dreading for months. I have two doctor’s appointments this week, one of which is at main campus and I hate that place with a raging passion. I really don’t want to go. But what am I looking forward to? The appointments being over!
